"革"で終わる言葉

(1)讖緯(ｼﾝｲ)思想で変事が起こるとされる、甲子(ｶｯｼ,通常はｺｳｼ)・戊午(ﾎﾞｺﾞ)・辛酉(ｼﾝﾕｳ)の三つの年。
甲子は革令(ｶｸﾚｲ)・革正(ｶｸｾｲ)・革政(ｶｸｾｲ)、戊午は革運(ｶｸｳﾝ)、辛酉は革命(ｶｸﾒｲ)とも呼ばれる。
日本には７世紀初頭に暦とともに伝わり、 604[推古12]が甲子であったため憲法十七条により和を強調し、『日本書紀』編纂に当り神武紀元を辛酉の年にするなど影響があった。また、平安初期に三善清行(ﾐﾖｼ･ｷﾖﾕｷ)が上奏し、 901(昌泰 4,延喜元)以降辛酉の年は改元が行われた。

(2)武具をつくる三種の革。犀(ｻｲ)の革、(｢凹｣に｢儿｣足)(ｼﾞ)の革、牛の革のこと。｢ジ｣とは一本の角を持った野牛に似た動物で、犀の一種とも一角獣ともいわれる。

(3)革でつくった三種の武具。甲(ﾖﾛｲ)・冑(ｶﾌﾞﾄ)・盾(ﾀﾃ)のこと。
